I became interested in Web3 and Solana in early 2021 and what was initially a fun little investment became a hunger to understand more about the technological aspects of Solana and blockchains more broadly. I ended up as one of the current moderators of the Solana Tech discord and Solana subreddit. Although I am currently a PhD student in biomedical sciences, I have been a very active participant in the Solana ecosystem for the past few years. Dubbelosix and I met in 2021 through online Solana discussions and in Spring 2022 we decided to become more deeply involved and team up to start Overclock Validator. I currently represent Overclock as a Jito Foundation delegate and am involved in many different corners of the Solana ecosystem.

Infrastructure

Hey! After getting a Master's degree in computer science at Carnegie Mellon, I started out as a software dev and over time transitioned into infrastructure engineering and devops with a focus on observability and performance. I have experience in both cloud and datacenter operations, which lends itself well to validator operation on Solana. During the past two years I started working in the blockchain space, which most recently included working at Sovereign Labs on ZK rollup technology. I also serve as a technical advisor to the Solana light client team, Tinydancer. I have a continuing interest in high performance blockchains such as Solana and love understanding protocols and their tradeoffs.

Engineering

I have 14 years professional experience working as a cyber security consultant. During this time, the majority of my work has centered around reverse engineering and native code review for security review of commercial software systems built by Big Tech firms and I also co-authored a mobile application security book, The Mobile Application Hacker’s Handbook. I currently co-own a cyber security firm named Dark Waves InfoSec, based in the United Kingdom, and I have been interested in blockchain technology for a number of years. In 2022 I collected a number of Solana bug bounties and in March 2024 joined Overclock to work on a Solana Foundation grant supported project tentatively called "Mithril". The goal will be to build a full node client that can verify Solana with lower hardware requirements, thus furthering decentralization of Solana.
